Little Yellowstone

Electricity is still on Water is shut off for the Season.

Little Yellowstone Park is a 27 acre campground and multi-use recreation area located 4 miles south and 1 mile east of Kathryn on State Highway 46. The park is nestled in the hills and valley along the Sheyenne River with a small spring-fed stream running through the park.

The Park Manager manages 2 part-time staff, Campground Hosts and oversees the day to day operation of the park. The park is managed by the Barnes County Park Board and provides 34 campsites 16 electrical and 18 more secluded primitive (non-electrical) campsites. Some of the nicest sites are located in the upper portion of the park. They do not have electrical hook-ups but provide seclusion and are perfect for tents and small campers. The campground is open May 1 through October 31.

Little Yellowstone Park is a rest stop along the Sheyenne River Valley National Scenic Byway and also has hiking trails throughout the park with quaint little bridges across the stream.

Camping Fees:
1 Unit per campsite (1 unit = a RV or Camper plus a tent or two tents)
Maximum of 8 people per site

$25 per night for campsites with electrical

$20 per night for primitive campsites

Campsites 1-9 are reservable from April 9 through October 31st.

$35 and $50 per day picnic shelter reservations are available for small and large shelters respectively

No charge for day use

No metal detecting allowed.

Amenities Include : Rural Water, 3 Modern Concrete Privies, Playground Equipment, Ball Diamond and Soccer Goals.
