Planning and Zoning
The position of the Barnes County Planning & Zoning Administrator is appointed by the Board of County Commissioners. As the Planning & Zoning Administrator, this position prepares Building Permits and Development Code Permits for the Barnes County Planning & Zoning Board using the Barnes County Planning & Zoning Development Code. The Barnes County Development Code was proposed by the County Planning & Zoning Board and approved by the Barnes County Commissioners. This Development Code may change yearly.
The Planning & Zoning Administrator records and reports the minutes of each County Planning & Zoning Board meeting, prepares and answers all Planning & Zoning Board correspondence and maintains the yearly budget.
