Treasurer’s Office

The office of the county treasurer was created by the state constitution and the duties are listed in the North Dakota Century Code. Treasurers are elected to four-year terms on a nonpartisan ballot during November elections and officially takes office the first Monday in May.

DUTIES OF THE COUNTY TREASURER:

Receive all incoming monies (real estate, mobile homes, delinquent’s etc.)
Collects fines and fees
Balance accounts
Monthly disbursement to county entities
Invest funds to receive the best return
Provides information to lending agencies, Realtors, and general public

Tax statements are mailed in December. By NDCC they must be mailed by the 26th of December. A 5% discount is given on real estate and mobile home taxes if paid in full by February 15th

Penalty on 1st installment

~2% penalty will begin on March 1st with an additional; 2% monthly

Penalty on 2nd installment
~2% penalty will begin on March 1st with an additional 2% monthly
